Neck Face

Devil’s Disciple

October 31, 2009

Miami, FL View Opening Night View Exhibition

Neck Face will turn the City inside out for his premiere solo exhibition in Miami, as he deconstructs all 10,000 square feet of OHWOW and builds a terrifying world. Featuring a haunted house installation complete with his iconic imagery, Devil’s Disciple is guaranteed to frighten. The crux of the exhibition will be Neck Face’s new work full of his signature imagery interwoven with a new personal dimension. After so many years of crafting a protected persona and moniker, the reclusive Neck Face has finally cracked open the door, ever so slightly, and let us into his world. Weaving pop-culture references into visual storytelling, the artist’s paintings have grown more complex and intricate. This newer imagery is balanced by a considered application of wit appearing throughout the work, executed in his familiar hand style. In addition to the paintings, a series of metal sculptures, reminiscent of African Woyo masks, combine to construct a large-scale installation.  Regardless of the route, Neck Face creates objects distinctly contemporary in their presentation with content that is unmistakably his.
